GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Interns at PACE are exposed to many areas of engineering, water resource management principles and exciting research and development efforts. We are seeking bright individuals, motivated to learn and contribute to a creative-minded engineering team.
Our interns are often later recruited for full-time positions, but please note that our opening is NOT for a full-time position at this time and we are not seeking highly experienced engineers.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
Applicant should have a basic knowledge of Civil Engineering and be working toward a B.S.C.E. degree. Background and interest in water resource disciplines preferred. Recent graduates will also be considered, but note internship positions are not full-time and benefits are not offered. Experience in AutoCAD use or equivalent experience is required.  Candidate must be a quick learner with strong communication skills.
  1. Assisting in AutoCAD redline changes
  2. Creating details in AutoCAD
  3. Research
  4. Field studies
  5. GPS surveys
  6. Technical writing
  7. Technical calculations
  8. Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling
  9. Conduct site visits as required
  10. Coordination with vendors
  11. Assisting PACE with administration support
HOURS:
We are flexible with work schedules and will set work schedules based on availability and support needed, but note that our office hours are between 8:00am and 5:00pm only.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, handle or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; color vision is very helpful. Occasional field work may be required and includes walking through uneven, rugged terrain, requiring good balance, ability to walk moderate to long distances, and good general vision and depth of field vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the office work environment is moderate.  May be required to work in external environment in all weather conditions.
