Professional Development Advisor, USAID Bureau for Global Health Professional and Organizational Development Project, Washington, D.C

The Bureau for Global Health (GH) provides worldwide leadership and technical expertise in the areas of child survival, mental health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, population, and reproductive health. The Global Health Office of Professional Development and Management Support (GH/PDMS) seeks to strengthen USAID health sector staff capacity to lead and manage health programs by providing resources, sharing knowledge, building capacity, managing performance, and maximizing learning opportunities.
Objective:
Social Impact is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to assist and advise in the design, delivery and evaluation of professional development activities (domestic and international) of the three-year USAID Bureau for Global Health Professional and Organizational Development Project. (A candidate with professional development as well as organizational development experience is preferred.)
Requirements:
· At least seven years of experience designing and facilitating training on the following strategic planning and performance management topics: Managing and Conducting the Strategic Planning Process; Preparing Results and Logical Frameworks; Developing Performance Management Plans; Planning for and Performing Evaluations and additional Performance-related topics as requested by the client.
· Have experience in developing, designing and evaluating professional development trainings in the areas of orientation, technical skills, management and leadership, personal effectiveness, and team effectiveness.
· Have experience in designing, implementing, and/or evaluating multi-faceted learning and training programs including distance-learning, instructor-led core training events, and tailored on-demand trainings.
· Have experience in developing and implementing team-building activities for groups.
· Able to identify suitable consultant candidates for the delivery of professional development trainings; will be responsible to on-board and monitor the performance of the consultants’ work.
· Have strong writing skills in English; a writing sample will be required.
· Have experience in quality assurance monitoring—how to develop quality assurance guidelines based on Kirkpatrick’s four levels of evaluation preferred.
· Have experience with USAID and USAID’s Global Health sector.
· Must have an advanced degree in international development related discipline and demonstrate knowledge of and skills in adult learning techniques.
· Must be physically located in Washington, DC, or willing to relocate.
· Must be available full time.
