Management Accountants

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Management Accounting • Prepare and improve monthly management accounts • Review all budgets submitted • Provide support to the UK Project Coordinator on all financial matters. • Prepare and improve monthly management accounts for the UK office and issue transaction lists. Discuss outcome with budget holders and feedback a summary report to the Chief Finance Officer • Improve monthly management accounts pack for countries and work with in country finance teams to ensure issued to and reviewed by the Regional and Country Directors including feedback to the Chief Finance officer. • Review and adapt the annual planning template and model to provide the required information for the agreed annual budget. • Prepare the annual budget for the UK projects and office in coordination with budget holders. • Create and improve a template for quarterly updated forecast and a rolling forecast for all countries. • Input all mapped and phased project budgets and core budgets into the Financials accounting system, ensuring reconciles to the donor budget. • Consider appropriate budget software that the organisation can use to automate many of the above processes.
  2. Financial Accounting and Regulatory Matters • Assist the Chief Finance Officer in improving financial systems by providing ideas based on day-to-day experience. • Work with the Chief Finance Officer on KPI reporting including the dashboard to the Board. • Work with the Chief Finance Officer on the mapping and provision of information to regional and country offices for financial decision-making. • Respond to ad hoc financial requests for financial management information • Support the design, input and workings of resource management software and review of the data input and compare to budgets.
  3. Donor Reports (ad hoc time permitting) • Review donor financial reports in conjunction with project managers on a timely basis and with the frequency required by the donor where required. • Assist in the compiling of budgets for new projects where required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential:
MUST HAVE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK
• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant • Knowledge of NGO donors and their financial reporting requirements • Minimum of three years’ experience.
Desirable:
• Experience of USAID compliance
Work Based Skills and Competencies:
Essential:
• Excellent computer skills with high advanced proficiency in Microsoft excel • Good analytical and reporting skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable: • Strong ability to be able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks • Good knowledge of accounting software • Good attention to detail
