Senior Analyst / Associate Banker, Samara
Role Overview
The EBRD seeks to recruit a Senior Analyst or Associate Banker to be based in the Samara Resident Office.
The Senior Analyst or Associate Banker will provide support to the project preparation process under direct and continuous supervision from Operations Leaders. The key focus will be on the credit and financial aspects of project development and implementation with special responsibility for financial modelling and analysis, but the Senior Analyst or Associate Banker will be expected to participate in all aspects of project development and implementation. An Associate Banker may progress to more complex aspects of transaction processing, progressively gaining more responsibilities.
The Senior Analyst or Associate Banker will join the team based in the Samara Resident Office and will also work in close collaboration with relevant sector team Bankers based in other offices. The work carried out in the Samara office focuses primarily on the Industry, Commerce & Agribusiness sector.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
- With supervision from senior team members, the Senior Analyst or Associate Banker will work throughout the whole life cycle of projects. This will be accomplished through marketing, project screening, origination, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, preparation, monitoring of projects and execution.
- Work on credit and financial aspects of project development, including financial analysis of companies – data gathering, construction and analysis of financial projections, structuring and monitoring of financing agreements.
- Research, analyse and provide background information into companies.
- Participate in monitoring of existing investments, including (i) preparation of regular monitoring reports based on meetings with clients and site visits, (ii) on-going risk review including financial review, (iii) financial projections and company valuation updates, (iv) market review update and other research and (v) interactions with the Bank’s internal departments.
- Draft specific assigned portions of Bank documents and correspondence.
- Attend client meetings with more senior bankers. Liaise with the Bank’s internal Credit department and other support units.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Good relevant degree from a leading university in the country of education (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Finance)
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience for Senior Analyst level and 4 years’ experience for Associate Banker level gained from investment bank/project finance or from a major international financial institution where he/she must have acquired high level banking/transaction skills and demonstrable expertise in structuring operations.
- Credit analysis skills: ability to interpret accounts, understanding accounting principles and practice of credit analysis
- Strong numerical and financial skills: ability to design financial models as well as to interpret financial information
- Sound understanding of business principles
- Computer literacy with excellent Excel skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Russian
