POSITION PURPOSE:  The Knowledge Management Project Manager is responsible for providing support for the implementation of an anticipated five (5) year USAID funded Knowledge Driven Agricultural Development (KDAD) Project working closely with the Bureau for Food Security (BFS). This will be a full-time, key position based in Washington DC. The purpose of the project is to build on existing USAID investment in Knowledge Management and Communications and Training activities. See Example
 
The Bureau of Food Security (BFS) seeks to develop a new mechanism to promote Knowledge-Driven Agricultural Development (KDAD) through effective, innovative knowledge management (KM), strategic communications, and training services. KDAD will use innovative means to systematically mobilize and share best practices and lessons learned about the effectiveness of strategies, interventions, and methods to sustainably reduce hunger, poverty and under nutrition.  SEEP Network will provide support to BFS for this activity.
 
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 
  • Track and report on project deliverables and respond to task requests.
  • Manage project budget and develop financial reports
  • Research, write, and edit print and web content
  • Collaborate in planning and production of learning products and job aids
  • Draft terms of reference and scopes of work for external technical experts.
  • Furnish activity reports to appropriate USAID offices.
  • Schedule and document regular meetings with the USAID activity manager as necessary.
  • Document key processes in organization, planning, and delivery of project activities
  • Ensure productive communication with Project Director and other team members.
  • Provide support in organizing workshop, training courses, in-person and on-line events
  • Ensure timely submission of all project deliverables.
  • Represent the SEEP Network to external donor agency
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • At a minimum, a progressively responsible work experience of 5 years or more years in the area knowledge management, training, and/or adult education with a focus on use of new media and web 2.0.
  • At least, 2 or more years working with professional, online communities for knowledge sharing and/or collaboration purposes.
  • Master’s Degree in agriculture, public health, international development, international affairs, communications, journalism, knowledge management, public policy, adult learning, instructional design and teaching, or a related area.
  • Knowledge of the elements of food security and the enablers for agriculture-led economic growth are highly desirable.
  • A proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.
  • U.S. Government work experience is desired.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of French, Spanish, or other language preferred.
  • Overseas work experience desirable.
  • Available to work full-time.
  • U.S. Citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
