Information Technology Specialist

Role Purpose:
  • To assist IRTI in meeting organization's Information and Technology needs.
  • To be responsible for maintaining IRTI, IT hardware, software, databases and portal.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of information systems and projects.
  • To ensure that the right data is collected, processed and stored in useable formats to meet the needs of IRTI and its stakeholders.
Responsibilities/Activities:
  • To plan and implement information projects to ensure that they meet the needs of IDB & IRTI's stakeholders.
  • To develop maintain and implement databases using SQL. Oracle and DB2 are added advantage.
  • To provide support for all IRTI databases
  • To develop new databases if required
  • To perform the duties of database developer.
  • To assist Database Administrators with DBA functions.
  • To develop, manage and maintain the dissemination of information methods to meet the needs of IRTI clients.
  • To design and develop information systems for the purpose dissemination of information and knowledge.
  • To use/develop social media tools effectively for knowledge dissemination
  • To provide technical support to users of the related systems & databases.
  • To identify information systems that would improve the effectiveness of services provided to users.
  • To collaborate the work of external consultants & vendors.
Qualification & Experience:
  • Master in Computer Science/IT or related field
  • Professional certification
  • MCSE - CCNA - MCITP or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in application development
  • Relevant experience particularly in Web development
  • 2 years of Sharepoint experience
  • 3 years of Net Framework Experience
  • Flash development
  • Experience in social media tools.
Specific Technical Skills:
  • Sharepoint
  • Good knowledge of Net framework
  • Database development (DDL, DML, DCL)
  • Computer Networking and Windows
  • A+ (added advantage)
  • System Analysis and design
  • Exposure to networks and information service management.
  • Project management knowledge is added advantage
  • Fluency in English.
  • Arabic or French language is an added advantage.
