The Governing Body of St Hilda’s College intends to elect a new Principal to succeed Sheila Forbes CBE, who will retire, after seven successful years, in 2014. St Hilda’s is an inclusive community which prizes academic excellence. The breadth of distinction among its graduates reflects those qualities. It is building on its tradition as a progressive college which has championed access within Oxford and is proud of being a place where every voice matters.
St Hilda’s will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2018. In this context, the College is seeking to raise its profile in an ambitious new phase of its development in which the Principal will take a leading role. The College currently has some 400 undergraduate students, in roughly equal numbers of women and men. There are 180 graduate students and 40 Fellows. The Governing Body welcomes applications from suitably qualified women and men who possess a distinguished record of achievement and leadership. The Principal will share and articulate the ethos and aims of St Hilda’s. S/he will have the strategic and administrative strengths to lead the College community in realising its collective purpose. The successful candidate will have the stature and network to be a compelling advocate for St Hilda’s in the wider world.
