Managing Director, Policy And Performance - GAVI Alliance

The GAVI Alliance is seeking an experienced and energetic new Managing Director, Policy & Performance (MDPP). This is an exciting opportunity to lead policy thinking both at GAVI and in the wider global public health community. Reporting to the CEO/DCEO, you will manage the development of strategic and policy direction, assessing the impact of programmes GAVI funds, quantifying future need, and planning how to deliver against it. You will also engage with the full range of GAVI’s funding and implementing partners.
The experienced team you will lead has a diverse set of expertise: from monitoring and evaluation to market shaping. You will be at the heart of ensuring GAVI is effective and that it remains a learning organisation, adapting programme design to new realities. A proven expert and intellectual leader, you will manage a team of some 30 people in an intense and results-driven environment. In addition, you will guide much of GAVI’s interaction with partners and board members. Whether from a private or public sector background, you will be technically credible and a highly effective communicator. You will be entrepreneurial and encourage innovation in your team. You will possess excellent negotiation skills and have the flexibility to work across national and sectoral boundaries readily. A real appreciation of the partnership model of global public health delivery and an understanding of the realities of working in resource-constrained environments in the Global South will be vital.
