TB Diagnostics, Analyst

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works to broaden access to life-saving therapy for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria patients in the poorest parts of the world.  CHAI approaches health access challenges with simultaneous and intensive engagement on both the demand and supply sides of the market. Based on the premise that business oriented strategy can facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to mobilize new resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save lives, via improved organization of commodity markets and more effective national and sub-national level management.

The TB Diagnostics team focuses on addressing both the supply-side and demand-side barriers to ensure access to accurate and affordable Tuberculosis diagnostics to patients in both the private and public sector. Current diagnostic procedures in the private sector are focused on the usage of sub optimal tests that are inaccurate, costly, and slow in diagnosing resistance to first line antibiotics. The access team is tasked with creating a market shift towards increased usage of WHO endorsed diagnostics that are accurate, affordable, and (geographically) accessible.

The TB Diagnostics team works closely with diagnostic and drug manufacturers, private sector labs, multilateral organizations, normative bodies and other stakeholders to lower prices of WHO endorsed diagnostics, encourage adoption of quality diagnostics, and accelerate the entry and uptake of new improved products.

Role:
The TB Analyst will be a critical contributor to CHAI’s India TB initiative, which aims to ensure increased uptake of newer diagnostic technologies in the private sector. These efforts will require deep engagement with private sector diagnostic labs and physician groups, formulation and execution of demand generation activities, provide market analysis and intelligence, advocate for expedited development of new products, and other operations and administrative tasks. The Analyst will develop strong relationships with various teams within CHAI, as well as senior management.  The position will require travel to meet key stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials, analytical ability, and strong communication skills.  The Analyst must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence.  CHAI places great value on personal qualities including resourcefulness, responsibility, tenacity, independence, energy, and work ethic.

  • Coordinate the development and dissemination of information regarding key TB market developments to CHAI country teams and relevant external organizations
