Training Development Consultant

Job Summary:
The overall responsibilities include review of training material, improvements and development of training manuals and provision of trainings to FOCUS trainers.
In addition, initiating and developing a social process in selected communities of specific and collective analysis of community problems; organizational staff members need to committed, aware of their responsibilities and perceived the project concept, goal, objectives and output very well to sensitize the community for collective action leading to solutions of those problems; and to make that process self sustains and self managing. He/she will report to program manager or his nominee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To review existing DRR material, session plans, modules and identify the gaps in purview of time, contents subject to contextual needs
• To improve, organize and develop a comprehensive CERT training material for further proposition and reference use.
• To review and compile existing snow avalanche material for community based capacity building session.
• To review and compile DART training material and develop a manual for further use.
• To prepare training plans in discussion with the trainers, team leaders/project manager.
• To facilitate training of trainers’ session in-house for staff capacity building and backstopping in the field for proper delivery and demonstrations.
• To ensure that a participative and interactive training approach is adopted during training delivery.
• To prepare training report for assigned trainings.
Additional Responsibilities:
• To add and improve the quality of social mobilization techniques and build the capacities of social mobilization staff,
• To enhance the volunteerism spirit of community through strong social mobilization, and
• To enhance the team attitude to contribute toward disaster self resilience.
• Give non-structural safety
• How to develop and drill Evacuation plan
• Knowledge of how to develop and translate manuals into action
• Ways of making resilience the community and the programs
Deliverables
The Training Development Consultant is responsible for producing the following deliverables:
  1. An improved version of training material which includes;
    o Training manual
    o Session plans
    o Training session plan (revised and improved version)
    o List of gaps identified
    o Field based backstopping, on job training of trainers and feedback,
  2. PowerPoint presentation slides
  3. Report of assignment
Job Requirements:
• Preferably graduate from literature faculty, knowledge or educational background of social science (diploma, certificate or degree) is required
• At least two years of experience in community trainings, social mobilization, and community related work i.e. experience in imparting trainings community and experience in working with INGOS/NGOs
• Skills in imparting trainings and/or experience in social mobilization, education etc
• Fluency in writing, speaking and listening of English, while knowledge of Dari will be a value addition
• Skill of report writing and preparation of action plan, developing power point presentations
• Computer skills specially, Microsoft Office package (Ms Word, excel, power point and access) and internet
• Ability to work within a team and or individually
• Ability to deliver presentations or training using acceptable methods and techniques
• Excellent skill in developing curriculum, learning objectives, and/or training materials, including developing non-structural safety and evacuation plan
• Proven ability to deal with people in a manner which shows cultural sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
