Training Facilitator: WASH and Nutrition IASC Cluster Coordinator Training
Location: Jordan Dates: 06 – 10 October 2013 Contract type: consultancy for a qualified training team of a lead and support trainer or a single lead trainer (we will have to identify the support trainer)
BACKGROUND UNICEF is Global Cluster lead for WASH and Nutrition and therefore accountable to ensure the existence of a managed and trained core group of cluster coordinator (CC) experts on a regional and global level.
With this background UNICEF in the MENA region will facilitate a Cluster Coordinators Training for these two sectors seeking participation of internal and external candidates.
The training will aim to provide participants with abilities and skills to serve as interagency cluster coordinators role and will allow us to expand the roster of WASH and Nutrition Cluster Coordinators (CCs) in MENA. At the end of the training UNICEF will have identified participants with the required level of skill, interest and ability to serve as a cluster coordinator and will these persons will be added to the regional roster of WASH and Nutrition CCs experts.
WORK ASSIGNMENT Specific tasks to be completed: a) Updated Regional CCs Training Package Ensuring that the recommendations of previous training, the recent review of capacity enhancement actions and the global guidance on changes to the cluster systems are taken into consideration
b) Development of pre-training preparation material for cluster coordination Jointly with WASH and Nutrition advisors to develop and roll out pre-training tests for participants that are based on set reading that should be completed.
c) One 4 day training workshop 07 – 10 October 2013. As a team of two facilitators, and a selection of resource persons, facilitate the four-day training in Jordan. The contractors will serve as lead trainers.
d) Evaluation of participants and identification of trained experts to be added to the Global Roster Jointly with WASH and Nutrition regional advisors to test, evaluate and provide feedback to participants on their suitability to function as cluster coordinators and to make same recommendations to the regional and global rosters.
QUALIFICATIONS /OR SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. 1- Previous experience in rolling out Global WASH or Nutrition Cluster Coordinators training 2- Recognised by the Global WASH/Nutrition clusters or the regional WASH/Nutrition Advisors as experienced cluster trainers 3- Advanced University Degree 4- Excellent command of English and excellent editorial and report writing skills. 5- Excellent computer skills
DURATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT The contract will start on will end 20 October 2013, however, engagement will start based on acceptance of a proposed work plan in application that must include the following: 1. A period for revision of existing training material, 2. Time to carry out pre-tests of participants 3. Facilitation of the week long training event with participant evaluation 4. Reporting and training evaluation with recommendations for next training
