Title: Web Analytics/ UX Specialist
Description:
As part of an interdisciplinary team of designers and web site developers, the Web Analytics/UX Specialist will help define, develop, and deliver site reporting and analysis that informs strategic and tactical decision-making related to client Web sites and user experience. You will also be responsible for producing and executing tasks related to UX, including interfaces and information architecture. You will work on a variety of public facing Web sites, social networks, extranets, and online stores that are visited by thousands of users. Effective verbal and visual communications with internal and external clients is a major function of the person in this position.
Essential Functions:
• Define and manage research and analysis to create data-driven insights about visitor behavior from traffic patterns.
• Fully leverage Web analytics tool to measure, track and optimize user interaction through segmentation, event tracking, conversion funnels, heatmapping and other relevant applications of the tool to inform future testing and site improvements.
• Provide insights on visitor behaviors, develop a measurement plan, support developers throughout the implementation and QA process of analytics tracking, and evaluate post-launch metrics. Identify the most effective way to present information to different audiences.
• Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve site effectiveness by drilling into data in order to further visitor engagement and growth. Find problems we did not even know we had. Use your keen insights to help us fix them.
• Design and conduct website tests (including A/B, multivariate, etc.) to optimize key performance indicators for site visitors.
• Develop and implement SEO strategy, including developing and interpreting periodic performance reports used in ongoing site traffic analysis, monitoring organic search placement, and evaluating overall SEO strategy effectiveness making suggestions to improve ranking.
• Help drive business decision-making by educating and informing project staff on Web metrics, including terminology, concepts, trends, insights, and recommendations. Help teach us all the basics of effective analysis.
• Consult and partner with internal departments to define and develop reporting and analysis, based on key performance indicators and metrics, in order to optimize site content and functionality.
• Produce user requirements specifications, personas, scenarios, and functional specifications.
• Execute user requirements gathering, conceptual modeling, onsite and offsite usability testing and competitive landscape analysis.
• Formulate and specify user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative UX techniques including customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery.
• Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed analysis both verbally and visually.
• Participate in additional business intelligence activities related to data analysis, as needed.
• Stay up to date on latest industry developments.

Minimum Requirements:
• BA or BS with strong analytical skills with 4-6 years’ experience as a Web Analyst
• Google Analytics certification
• In-depth experience with Web Analytics tools (Google Analytics, WebTrends, Omniture, etc.)
• Understanding of Internet technologies as they relate to analytics on enterprise level sites
• Strong analytical and communication skills; must be a team player who excels in juggling multiple projects and working across department lines
• Attention to detail and accuracy is critical
• Action-oriented approach, able to turn data into insights and concrete recommendations for improvement
• SEO skills with keyword analysis and selection; competitive site analysis; site mapping; keyword density analysis; optimization of site content; optimization of meta tags, page titles, and descriptions; inbound and outbound link placement; internal linking strategies; and site submission
• E-commerce site experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and visual
• Federal contracting experience a plus
