ITO Phase : Receives and analyses customer RFQ's Transforms customer requirements into solutions Selects system components to fulfill these requirements Selects the system architecture and interfaces necessary to implement the project with S&P engineering and Platform Engineering if necessary) Coordinates with S&P Engineering to obtain data of Engineering effort to complete the project Estimates installation and commissioning effort Identifies follow-on service opportunities post-commissioning and communicates these opportunities to the Services Vertical to identify potential service enabling technologies to be included with the original project. Coordinates with S&P Engineering to defien the implementation of non-standard or unique combinations of sub-systems. Cooridnates with S&P Engineering for the technical risk assessement and mitigation for the project. Creates the project FMEA and prioritizes the technical risks Participates in the risk review with vertical leadership Coordinates the initial make versus buy decisions Coordinates with S&P Engineering and Technology Engineering (R&D) to derive functional requirements for non-standard scopes of supply Identifies exceptions to the customer specification Seeks agreement with the verticals leadership to take the exceptions Presents exceptions in risk review (go/no go) identifies long lead time items for delivery risk Develops the cost for the scope of supply in conjunction with Supply Chain, Platform Engineering, Product Leaders, and S&P Engineering Compares cost to market price expectation and determines whether GM is above minimum threshold together with commercial manager. If close, reworks concepts to attain a better cost-judgement call based upon effort and profitability of receiving the order. Prepares the technical bid quotation (not the commercial portion) Participates in legal reviews (IP, regulatory, Terms&Conditions) but does not lead these reviews. OTR Phase : Participates in project kick-off meetings, lead by S&P Engineering Responds to requests for support from S&P Engineering to ensure highly effective hand-off to S&P Engineering Participates in ITO post mortems What went good? What went bad ? Documents lessons learned, including after project delivery and closure Communicates lessons learned to all teams involved in the project Accountable for : Accuracy of project cost estimate (BOM and labor) Technical risk prioritization and mitigation strategy (project FMEA) Timeless of delivery of the technical system solution to the ComOps team | |
