Senior Project Officer - Brisbane

About the role
The Senior Project Officer (SPO) is responsible for supporting the planning, delivery and monitoring and evaluation of Africa Fellowships by Australian host organisations contracted under the DFAT funded Australia Awards in Africa initiative. The SPO will assist in preparing tender documentation and facilitate all facets of the tendering and contracting process. The SPO will also monitor and evaluate the performance of host organisations in accordance with established monitoring and evaluation processes and indicators. This is a full time role up to June 30, 2015.
Key responsibilities include
  • Administration of tendering and contracting processes for Africa Fellowships
  • Provide effective liaison with host organisations, government departments and other agencies as required, supporting the successful design, delivery and completion of Fellowships.
  • Develop and apply a process of managing key contract dates and deliverables to ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Develop risk management plans for Fellowship activities in response to identified risks and client expectations and ensure adherence to quality processes.
  • Develop and manage quality and procedural manuals for Fellowship activities for inclusion in the Quality Assurance Manual (QAM) and ensure compliance with their requirements.
  • Ensure all provider progress and program completion reports are of a high quality and submitted on time.
  • Ensure that all data entered into database systems is of a high quality/accuracy and meets all of the program and stakeholder expectations.
  • On-Award Pastoral Care Monitoring and Support.
  • Quality processes, risk management and data integrity.

About You
Selection criteria
Essential:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, project management or other related field
  • Demonstrated experience in review, analysis and reporting of data and reports in a client focused environment
  • Excellent demonstrated communication skills and experience of working effectively across cultures with a diversity of clients
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with training providers
  • Experience in project coordination or project management in a training or tertiary education environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve effectively
  • Literacy in information technology, including experience of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety                                                                                             
Highly Desirable:
  • Experience of international education in the Australian context  and/or time spent living and working internationally
  • Experience in training/educational services procurement, including preparing tender documentation, contracts and related budget proposals specifically for DFAT-AusAID
