Event Production Services Consultant

Please find the detailed job description in the attached document. A July 1, 2014 start date is anticipated through to December 4, 2014.
The Consultant will coordinate the 2014 Geneva Annual Dinner in Geneva and provide professional event production services, including but not limited to:
  1. Working with Human Rights Watch staff to adhere to the agreed budget and timeline;
  2. Participating in periodic meetings with HRW staff and other stakeholders
  3. Monitoring, evaluating and trouble-shooting systems (for following up with invitees, donors, staff and complimentary ticketholders; acknowledging donors; tracking RSVPs; and creating accurate check-in lists);
  4. Liaising with the venue staff to ensure the smooth running of the event;
  5. Liaising with caterer(s) to ensure the smooth running of the event;
  6. Hiring and overseeing a production company to manage the Annual Dinner technical program;
  7. Selecting, negotiating, appointing and supervising vendors as needed;
  8. Arranging and leading production meetings;
  9. Managing all technical pre-production and logistics, including deliveries and onsite schedules;
  10. Determining the need, if any, to hire additional event staff; and
  11. Recruiting and managing volunteers for the event;
  12. Overseeing on-site production on the day of the event as well as oversee event breakdown;
  13. Perform other responsibilities as required.
