Position Profile
The International Partnership Director reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and works with management and staff in Chengdu, China and Hanoi, Vietnam to oversee planning, development, implementation and evaluation of projects, as well as to cultivate relationships with donors and project stakeholders. This position also assesses opportunities for new partnerships, and ensures liaison between AIP Foundation’s stakeholders and internal teams to develop and sustain innovative, strategic, well executed partnerships. The International Partnership Director represents AIP Foundation locally and internationally.
Responsibilities
China country office management
· Oversee and mentor Country Manager to ensure progression; provide guidance for decision-making on deliverables and programs; manage partnerships; coordinate activity and monitoring & evaluation plans; support Country Manager with staff management
· Cultivate and nurture relationships with donors; manage communication with and report to donors
· Identify, select and manage project consultants
· Ensure project progress and quality, including budgets and accountability measures
Vietnam partnership coordination
· Identify, establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in national, regional, and local government bodies and institutions, NGOs, and private sector organizations
· Enhance the organization’s reputation and image among stakeholders, acting as the organization’s representative in meetings and events with governments and stakeholders
· Seek timely input from stakeholders and advocate for support for AIP Foundation’s road safety campaigns and programs
· Assist in the oversight of the program implementation providing guidance for Hanoi-based program staff
International representation and development
· Represent AIP Foundation at international meetings, conferences, workshops and events
· Provide senior representation of AIP Foundation in Hanoi, Vietnam; support President on representation with local and international institutions, funders and partners
· Coordinate the management of ongoing relationships with existing partners and where relevant, leverage those relationships to greater collective impact
· Identify and assess potential for collaboration with new strategic partners and manage assistance to international stakeholders e.g. provide technical support to organizations in other developing countries, including advice on legislation, policy formulation, and standards
Human resources
· Support mapping and identification of AIP Foundation’s HR needs in Hanoi, Vietnam and Chengdu, China, including job description development, recruitment advertising, interviewing, contract negotiations and staff performance reviews
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Public Health or a similar field preferred
· 5-10 years of experience in a non-profit organization, leading a team and/or managing partner relations, preferable while located directly in a low- to middle-income country
· Proven ability to coordinate and work with high level government and private stakeholders
· Demonstrated interest in international road safety; previous experience and current connections within international road safety field is a plus
· Successful track record of planning, implementing and evaluating public advocacy initiatives, social marketing campaigns, and/or school-based programs
· Experience of working as part of a senior management team and leading organizational strategy
· Demonstrated drive to solve problems in a team environment, leading with high energy and a positive attitude
· Creative thinker and resourceful problem solver with the ability to create efficient and flexible processes when needed
· Entrepreneurial, responsible and self-motivated
· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral
· Willing to travel up to 1/4 of work time
