Quality management unit director

Chemonics seeks a Washington-based director to manage the day-to-day work of our Quality Management Unit (QMU) and oversee maintenance of our ISO 9001 certification and continual improvement of our quality management system. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
•Oversee and conduct assessments of Chemonics’ business processes and internal operations to provide recommendations for decision-making
•Lead, develop, and refine technical interventions for effective business process improvement and organizational efficiencies in the home office and in the field
•Serve in a leadership role in the Executive Division, reporting to the executive vice president, coordinating with other executive-level members, and collaborating with other director-level staff
•Liaise across all support units and regional business units throughout the company
•Engage in regular coordination with and presentations to the executive management team
•Engage in new business and provide technical input into proposals
•Mentor and supervise QMU staff
•Conduct organizational development interventions
Qualifications include:
•Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
•Minimum six years of management and/or technically relevant work experience
•Demonstrated technical knowledge, experience, and aptitude in organizational development, including business process improvement, management systems, organizational design, and organizational capacity building as examples
•Solid business acumen with an entrepreneurial, creative bend toward business systems and operational approaches
•Experience with ISO 9001, HICD, Lean Six Sigma, or other organizational capacity development tools
•Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with demonstrated application in an organizational development setting
•Ability to solve complex technical, managerial or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
•Ability to operate at advanced levels of authority and manage significant, large-scale activities to produce and take responsibility for results
•Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, focus groups, and effective meetings
•Demonstrated leadership, management, organizational, and decision-making skills
•Demonstrated orientation for client service
•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•Demonstrated ability to organize and supervise department staff
•Ability to manage competing priorities and provide leadership on multiple projects simultaneously
•Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others
•Experience living or working in developing countries preferred
•Willingness to work overseas for up to four to eight weeks per year and to consider long-term overseas assignments. Knowledge of company’s main client and its operations preferred
•Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
