The Economic Development Advisor will provide overall technical leadership and support in developing and implementing the World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) Economic Development Strategy including contribution to enhancing the organisational capacity for effective Economic Development programming and promoting continual learning and innovation in alignment with the Asia Pacific Regional and Global Strategies and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Develop and implement the WVB strategic Plan for Economic Development Programmes in alignment with other regional and global strategies and priorities, with support from the Centre of Expertise (CoE).
- Provide advice and guidance to National Office, regional divisional offices in development of Economic Development plans and/or strategies.
- Work with Centre of Expertise (CoE) for Economic Development Programming to share and disseminate learnings, research material, and programming resources throughout WVB Programmes.
- Support WVB to review Technical standards and capacity-building practices, to ensure local-level staff are recruited, oriented, trained and supported according to Economic Development Competency Framework developed by the CoE.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
- Post graduate qualifications and / or Professional background in Economic Development, or other relevant development field.
- Knowledge of Economic development and poverty dynamics, issues, and contributing factors.
- Knowledge of programming resources and tools in for Economic development programming.
- Understanding of fundamental R&D processes leading to project model development.
- Understanding of strategy implementation and organisational change processes.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, relevant for tasks related to research and strategy development.
- Regular travel to field locations is expected. Some travelling expected particularly to Asia Pacific member countries of the peer action-learning group for liaisons etc.
