Programme manager Women's Leadership

Cordaid believes in a world without poverty and exclusion. We strive for a just and sustainable society where every person counts. We stand for knowledge and talent sharing between North and South, between farmers and businesses, between activists and policymakers. Where poverty, conflict and exclusion divide societies, we connect people and communities. We stand for professionalism, expertise and solidarity across borders. We make a difference where it is most needed.
Together with more than 800 organizations in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America we structurally improve the living conditions of the poorest and most excluded populations - the bottom billion. We do that where natural disasters strike, where conflicts tear up communities and where underdevelopment keep families in extreme poverty. In the Netherlands we are known as Cordaid Memisa, Cordaid Mensen in Nood, Cordaid Kinderstem and Cordaid Microkrediet.
Cordaid is looking for the unit Women's Leadership a
Programme manager
(36 hours, duty station The Hague)
Women are the backbone of the society; crucial contributors to the social, political and economical structures of many nations. They transcend ethnic and religious borders to advocate for peace and security for their children. They advocate for education, employment and new opportunities for young people. Lasting peace prevail unless women are involved in decision making processes that influence their daily lives!
However very often women are almost virtually absent during decision making processes; and especially at negotiation tables; as a result their interests are not represented.
The Cordaid's Women's Leadership unit supports the process of linking local women to national, regional and International fora in Africa, Asia and Latin America to consolidate their positions. Together they define their roles as well as strengthen their positions.
