Job Overview / Summary
This position provides overall project management for technology systems and support projects. The primary function of this position will be to plan, schedule and track system and support technology projects to configure ServiceNow, IT's service desk tool, develop the IT department's service catalog and further mature IT service support processes. The ability to continually identify, prioritize and mitigate day-to-day project issues and risks and effectively control project scope are critical success factors.
This position requires strong organization skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a distributed, multicultural environment. The Technology Project Manager, Systems and Support
reports to the Director of Technology Program and Portfolio Management and works collaboratively with IT managers and associates across the organization.
Job Function & Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts.
  • Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
  • Coordinates communication with all areas of the IT organization that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
  • Responsible for quality of project deliverables.
  • Responsible for project communications.
  • May be involved in the procurement of system-related hardware, software and services.
  • Coaches and mentors staff and managers.
Job Requirements
Successful candidates will most closely meet the following requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Experience
  • 4 - 6 years of experience managing cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Experience with IT service, infrastructure and support process redesign and documentation, particularly ITIL methodology.
  • Must possess knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Can estimate the project's effort from functional/technical requirements to the necessary level for planning and scheduling purposes
  • Can prioritize trade-offs between on-time, on-scope or on-budget delivery
  • Skilled at project scheduling, including via automated tools, and can analyze progress and trade-offs
  • Can implement project change process, as appropriate for scope control and change processes
  • Can debate effectively for or against project changes, as appropriate
  • Supports Project and Portfolio Management process implementation
  • Sufficient communication and organization skills to implement a formal communications plan
  • Capable of project risk assessment, monitoring and mitigation planning
  • Team leadership skills sufficient to facilitate conflict and issue resolution
  • Knowledge of traditional and agile system development life cycle management approaches
  • Problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills to influence management, as well as internal and external partners
  • Works well with others in an integrated team environment
  • Self-motivated and a problem solver
  • Intercultural competence
Preferred Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in working within a Project Management Office, or equivalent structure
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Box, LifeSize, and WebEx
  • Experience with ITIL methodology
  • Project Management certification
Working Environment
  • The position will work in the New York City Headquarters location and is expected to be on-site
  • Some international travel maybe required
  • Standard office work environment
