AMREF JOBS - Project Assistant - ADAM Project

AMREF Kenya is looking for a qualified and highly motivated individual to join the ADAM - Strengthening Strategic HIV/AIDS Project which is funded by Centres for Disease Control (CDC). The purpose of the project is to develop and support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation strategies and tools to track HIV/AIDS programmatic activities and report for decision making and project improvement. The project works closely with MoH, NACC and NASCOP to achieve the project objectives.

The position is based in Nairobi and reports to the Project Manager.

Purpose of the Job

To assist in technical expertise and support project activities and implementation of the project strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in co-ordinating and participating in planning and implementation of project activities.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports relating to the project.
  • Assist in operations research and documentation.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting field visits and meetings with relevant partners and stakeholders.
  • Participate in development of new proposals and concept development for fundraising
  • Assist in control and account for the use of project resources and assets
  • Assist in managing relevant project financial transactions.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the project.

Qualifications and Competencies

The ideal candidate should have a first degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent. At least two (2) years work experience in a busy NGO. Excellent ICT skills including statistical packages - SPSS, STATA, EPI Info. Experience in monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage. In addition, the ideal candidate must have strong analytical, problem solving, team dynamics skills, strong communication and networking skills and should be able to work with minimal supervision.
