About the role

The role of the Program Manager is to take ownership of and lead the Save the Children Australia direction of projects and programming in identified country programs in South East Asia, to deliver the best for children and maximise our impact on realising the rights of vulnerable children.

The Program Manager will ensure that projects are effectively designed, budgeted, implemented and monitored in line with Save the Children quality standards and will support growth and development of the program portfolio.

The Program Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with donors and stakeholders within Australia, as well as key Save the Children International stakeholders across the globe.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Highly developed relationship building & interpersonal skills • Significant program management experience in developing countries • Proven international development project monitoring and evaluation experience. • Previous experience managing organisational & operational risks in programs. • Working knowledge and understanding of child rights and child-rights programming. • Experience in the development of effective advocacy programs. • Experience managing budgets and financial control processes. • Experience in preparation of funding proposals. • Working knowledge and understanding of AusAID and Government Agency funding and reporting procedures, experience with other donor agencies well regarded • Specific technical expertise in Health, Education, Child Protection, HIV/AIDs or Child Rights Governance would be highly valued • Behavioural flexibility and ability to work with across several layers of internal and external stakeholders
