Consultancy - Outcomes of Save the Children's Psychosocial Work in Developed Countries

We are currently recruiting an experienced consultant with child protection in emergencies programming experience, to provide research on the Outcomes of Save the Children’s Child Protection and Psychosocial Work in Developed Countries.

The purpose of this research is to:

1) Gather information on previous child protection and psychosocial programming in developed countries. 2) Gather evidence on the efficacy of psychosocial programming in Save the Children’s response in Japan. 3) Use this to share learning and develop recommendations concerning programming in developed countries.

Results from this research will feed into a concurrent research project into Save the Children’s role in developed and transitional contexts, which will make broader recommendations.

These two projects are the first stage of a three-part learning process, which will take around 24 months. The second stage will be to implement the recommendations of this research, by developing tools, manuals or procedures. We anticipate that these may include the preparation of an EPP (Emergency Preparedness Plan) tool for developed and transitional country contexts, and changes/additions to all ESOPs (Emergency Standard Operating Procedures) for these contexts. The third stage is to test these new approaches in developed and transitional responses for impact measurement.
