Stop AIDS NOW! (SAN), the Netherlands, and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance), UK, have formed a partnership, Stop AIDS Alliance (SAA) to represent the work of the two organizations towards the key policy makers in Brussels, Geneva and Washington DC.

Action for Global Health (AfGH) is a cross-Europe network of NGOs and charities, calling for Europe to act now to enable developing countries to achieve the Health Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. SAA is one of the Brussels partner organisations of AfGH, together with Plan International.

The European Policy Liaison Officer will be responsible for the implementation of the AfGH policy and advocacy work plan in collaboration with Action for Global Health partners in Brussels and other project countries, to include logistics and organization of events. The role also includes representing SAA and AfGH at external meetings and communicating with other advocates in Brussels, including through participation in NGO working groups.

The successful applicant will have sound understanding of the functioning European Union and its Institutions, in particular EU development cooperation. In addition s/he will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a support role for an EU Institution, UN agency or NGO, with a particular focus on policy and advocacy work and organising events.
