Group Manager Rig Systems SDE Sweden

We are now looking for a Group Manager to our Rig System Group which is a strategic important position in SDE to further maintain and develop our current as well as future products in order to meet our customer’s demands world wide. We are market leaders, a position we shall keep and even further strengthen.

The Rig System Group is technically responsible for complete rig system on the Flexi / Smart-products, both to maintain the competitiveness but also to develop the next generation. Rig systems include functionality, architecture, hard- and software related to hydraulics, electrics and electronics, pneumatics, software and total rig energy efficiency. Our recently launched RSP-system will be the base for the future development.
The group´s responsibility concerns Basic Development, Product Development and Continuous Product Improvements (CPI).
The group has also global responsibility within SDE being the Lead Design Centre for systems and total rig energy efficiency.

Your role as the Group Manager will be to further develop the technology and methodology as well as the people in the group. You are responsible for design and specification for the complete rig systems and for coordination of the responsibility areas for SDE products. You are the driver and coordinator of the activities and deliverables from the group. As the Group Manager you will have extensive contacts and communication both within SDE and to other divisions, also internationally, but also externally with customers, suppliers etc.

The work position will be in the R&D department at the Atlas Copco SDE division in Örebro reporting to the R&D Manager.


Experience/ Personality:

You should have experience and passion for technology, products and application and be driven by leading, supporting and developing people. You should have an analytical approach as well as a multi tasking capability.
You should be communicative, have a structured way of working and a desire to take responsibility. To succeed in this role you must have a solid experience in system development, experience from mobile applications in demanding environments and MMI / HMI aspects are meriting. Technically advanced products for demanding customers around the world should be an inspiring area.


Competence / Education:

You should have a documented academic background, civil engineer with the appropriate orientation or other highly qualified engineer. You shall have documented competence in the responsibility areas of the group. Very good knowledge of English is required since English is our corporate language and is used, both in speech and in writing.
