Lebanon Greenhouse/Hydroponics Technical Advisor

Greenhouse/Hydroponics Technical Advisor, Lebanon

In anticipation of upcoming opportunities in the Lebanon, ACDI/VOCA is seeking long-term experts with demonstrated expertise in the following areas: • Hydroponics structures: greenhouse engineering and hydroponic growing systems • Fruit, vegetable and flower crops using greenhouse and hydroponics principles in a commercial setting • Demonstrated experience working with commercially grown produce for brand name retail markets. Qualifications: • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in one or more technical disciplines relevant to the above. • University degree in agronomy, agricultural economics, horticulture, or other relevant field (advanced degree is preferred). Fifteen or more years of demonstrated commercial experience may be substituted for a degree. • Proven experience with capacity building, training and mentoring in greenhouse and hydroponic production is required. • Experience working with international and/or regional NGOs and/or companies on USAID-funded projects; ministries of agriculture; and/or private sector actors (farmers, agribusinesses and buyers) is preferred. • Ability to transfer technical knowledge and trainings to a diverse range of stakeholders. • Excellent written and spoken English is required.
