The Division of External Relations is currently looking for

Private Sector Fundraisers

UNHCR is an international frontline humanitarian organization operating in approximately 126 countries, with 388 offices, worldwide to help people who have been forced to flee their homes. Some 6,600 staff are directly employed by the organization.

To meet the needs of our rapidly expanding global fundraising programme, UNHCR is looking for talented fundraisers to join the Private Sector Fundraising team. We are seeking a variety of profiles: from face-to-face experts to corporate fundraising specialists. Certain functional profiles have specific requirements, but in general, candidates will be expected to have the following minimum qualifications:

  • A university degree (Bachelors or Masters) in a field relevant to the functions in the job description: Marketing, Business Administration, Fundraising, Public Relations, Public Administration, Communications or a related discipline;
  • minimum of three years of international working experience in the relevant functional area;
  • Excellent knowledge of English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish). Additional languages would be an asset;
  • Ability to work well in a multicultural team.

UNHCR’s Private Sector Fundraising Service (PSFR) plays a crucial role in helping expand the organization’s funding base, while ensuring a sustainable and predictable stream of income. Although currently representing a small portion of UNHCR’s overall revenues, the contribution from the private sector is nonethless significant and rapidly increasing: in 2011, inputs amounted to more than US$ 100 million. UNHCR’s private sector fundraising focuses on two main income pillars: leadership giving and individual giving.

PSFR is currently recruiting Foundation Relations, Corporate Relations, HNWI and major donor fundraisers in London, Rome, Abu Dhabi and Bangkok.
