Natural Environment Research Council - NERC

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) is seeking a part-time non-executive Chair for its Science and Innovation Strategy Board (SISB). SISB is the key source of advice to NERC Council on science and innovation strategy, policy and investments.

You will have extensive experience and understanding of research, business or policy related to environmental science or engineering at national and international levels. With an excellent record of achievement, influence and personal credibility in your field, you will be able to evaluate complex issues and make balanced strategic recommendations. Board-level experience and understanding of finance would be beneficial.

We offer a remuneration package of £9,000 per annum for 20-25 days work, together with reasonable travel expenses. The appointment is for three years commencing 1^st April 2012.

NERC supports the full range of atmospheric, earth, biological, terrestrial and aquatic sciences, from the deep oceans to the upper atmosphere and from the poles to the equator.
