Established in 2002 and based in Amsterdam, Radio La Benevolencija/Humanitarian Tools Foundation is a non-governmental organization that develops and produces education media projects aimed at trauma healing, reconciliation and the prevention of ethnic violence. The foundation has projects in Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Radio La Benevolencija is currently seeking a

FINANCE MANAGER for 32 hours per week.

For this position a temporary contract is offered with the possibility of renewal. The Finance Manager reports to the Director of the organization. He/she collaborates with the Project Manager, the Heads of Mission and the (Financial) Administrators of the field locations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Overall budget responsibility for the programs implemented in various countries and for the organizational budget;
  • Development of sound financial and administrative procedures, both for the head office and the field locations;
  • Consolidation of monthly financial reports from the field locations and providing feedback to budget holders;
  • Production of timely and accurate financial reports for the MT, the Board and institutional donors. Preparation of the Annual Financial Report;
  • Production of budgets for the organization and project proposals with the aim of fundraising;
  • Supervising, training and day-to-day assistance to the administrators in the field locations. Including support to the bookkeeping;
  • Cash flow planning and fund management;
  • HR administration and payroll;
  • Keep up to date with Tax, Payroll and Legal documents;
  • Contributes to the development of organizational policies, including financial, HR, security and conduct.

PROFILE (KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)

Relevant Academic or HBO background (finance, accountancy, business administration) preferably in an international (NGO) environment

  • >3 years relevant work experience in financial project monitoring preferably in the NGO sector;
  • Knowledge of institutional donors, their funding policies and budgeting and (financial) reporting requirements;
  • Social and communicative skills for coaching and managing of staff (national and international);
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch, English and French;
  • Skilled in budgeting and financial reporting;
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping;
  • Experience in financial policy development;
  • Strategic and analytical thinking and the ability to translate policy into practice;
  • Knowledge of HR and financial administration tools and systems;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills in order to achieve maximum results with limited means;
  • Able to function and think on strategic, operational and technical levels;
  • Affinity with development aid.

BASED IN:

90% in Amsterdam and 10% in the project countries

SALARY

Depending on age and experience, the monthly salary will range between 3200,-- and 4725,-- Euro on a basis of 36 hour work week.
