Job Description

We are looking for a Business Analyst who is a real self-starter, flexible and adaptable and happy to take on a great variety of different types of work. Typical assignments range from pure business level analysis (e.g. process improvement or business options) through to scoping, early definition and ongoing analysis support for software development teams - acting as the bridge between the IT department and the business for interpretation of real business need.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Able to work collaboratively with a wide range of different stakeholders from the business and IT.
- Able to quickly assess a new assignment and determine the best approach to take forward with minimal direction from others.
- Able to work on more than one assignment at the same time.
- Able to work on own initiative when required.
Your contribution on all of the above is to ensure that change projects at Ordnance Survey are delivered as effectively as possible, with maximum possible benefit achieved with the minimum amount of cost and effort.


Skills and Knowledge
Essential
o Track record in eliciting and documenting of requirements cross a wide range of project using a varied range of different techniques and presentation formats to best suit the situation and stakeholder
o Track record in the critical evaluation of information, reconciliation of conflict and extraction of underlying true business need from user requests
o Track record in provision of guidance and advice to the business on approaches to resolve business problems or develop opportunities
o Track record in management of stakeholders and their expectations, all levels of the organisation

Desirable
o ISEB Certificate in Business Analysis.
o Proven track record in leading & line managing a team of Business Analysts
