LOGISTICS INTERN, DUBLIN

Reporting to: HQ Logistics Manager (LM)
Job Location: Dublin
Start Date Required: Immediate
Contract Length: 12 months



General Description of the Role
Assist the Logistics Manager HQ (LM) and the Logistic Officers (LO) in supporting the logistics function of GOAL in relation to Dublin and respective field offices. A key objective of the role is to undergo the required preparation and training to potentially take up an active logistics field role after 12 months working in HQ.



Key Responsibilities
1. Assist the logistic officers in Dublin in regard to their respective countries with e.g.
Consolidating of reporting data;
Follow up on reporting queries;
Daily field support;
Field procurement;
Organizing Packing and Shipping of goods from Head Office (HQ) to the various field sites.
2. Head Office Procurement
Effect Head Office (HQ) related procurement of various items e.g. stationary, visibility materials, IT equipment and others;
Keep up to date the GOAL HQ Vendor Roster;
Keep up to date GOAL HQ order tracking and contract databases.
3. Asset Management
Keep up to date a Fixed Asset Register in relation to Head Office (HQ) and the GOAL technical team;
Manage the hand-out and return of any assets in relation to the GOAL technical team;
Perform bi-annual physical checks of all assets in relation to above.
4. Insurance - Consolidate insurance data from Field sites and Head Office
5. Communications - Consolidate satellite phone costs from Field sites and GOAL technical team
6. Emergency preparedness and response – remaining up to date on GOAL logistics procedures in regard to emergency response and participate actively in effecting these whenever an emergency occurs , e.g. preparing and shipping of the emergency kit
7. Facilities Management – Act as daily focal point for Head Office in regard to Dublin facilities and assist the LM in managing all HQ related service contracts.
8. Other - Undertake other tasks relating to GOAL activities as requested in agreement with the Logistic Officers and the Logistics Manager



Requirements

Desirable:
• A degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business, or equivalent

Essential:
• Interest in regard to administrative and analytical tasks
• Educated to leaving cert standard
• Good computer skills in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to travel overseas after the initial year
