Overall Role Purpose

To deliver management development interventions across the DHL Express UK and Ireland business aligned with the Group agenda.

Scope of Role

Specific Role context (brief explanation)

The role includes working with the L&D Department to deliver the management development offering.

To work with Senior managers in the L&D/HR department to ensure delivery of fit for purpose interventions that support the business plan.

While the role is based in Express UK Head Office, a high degree of geographical flexibility and travel is required.

Specific Role Challenges (brief explanation)

The key challenge is to ensure that a creative learning environment is maintained and that learning is and can be transferred to the workplace.

Accountabilities

Key activities

Customer / Stakeholder

  • Support the L&D department to deliver its agenda
  • Deliver the management development business plan and interventions
  • Monitor the capability of all management roles and establish opportunities for improvement
  • Source, develop and manage productive relationships with appropriate vendors
  • Manage the delivery of management and skills development programmes
  • Act as a coach to HR and line management
  • Act as a consultant to HR and line management in regards to management development matters
  • Benchmark DHL policies with the external business and industry best practice and propose improvements
  • Ensure local implementation of initiatives set down by DP-DHL Corporate Executive Development where appropriate

Process

  • Provide workable management development processes for use across business
  • Measure effectiveness of development activity
  • Support, where necessary, functional training to ensure legal compliance and effective delivery of skills training
  • To keep records of all training, attendees, evaluation etc.
  • 1-1 meeting with Snr Director of Training to update as required

People – Management

  • Support the development of the wider L&D team
  • Support the L&D EOS action plan as required
  • Proactive member of the L&D team

Expected years of experience (Minimum needed and desired)

  • It is likely that the ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.

  • Formal Training qualification preferred (CIPD etc)
  • Coaching qualification preferred
  • MBTi / psychometric testing qualification preferred
