A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Information Systems Developer to join our Argos contract in our Supply Chain Division based at our site in Stafford, Staffordshire.

Primary Purpose of Role

The primary purpose of this role is to provide support for IS related contract activities for all sites operating within the Home Retail Group Contracts. This would include the development and support of bespoke databases to improve the collation, intergrity and accuracy of information reported within the business.

Key Accountabilities

  • To provide proactive analytical support through development, tracking and interpretation of KPI's. Assist in accurate and timely production of weekly / periodic KPI reports.
  • To provide technical support on all bespoke databases and spreadsheets created by the MIS Team.
  • To investigate anomalies / descrepancies in the system /data, and ensure they are resolved.
  • To provide appropriate IS support and services across the contract escalating issues that cannot be resolved locally to the IT service desk.
  • Identify and implement IS best practice across all sites.
  • To act as 'Super User' for contract T & A system's responsible for traning new users and programming new pay rules into the system.
  • Develop 'in-house' bespoke databases where appropriate, in the correct medium, to specification and with full documentation.
  • Managing back up, archiving, house keeping, change control, user maintenance, purge, disaster recovery and file maintenance.
  • Ensure all new releases of databases developed 'in-house' are tested in line with the agreed testing procedure.
  • In liaison with the Training Department ensure IS training is provided to colleagues in line with agreed best practice. This would include production of comprehensive user manuals.

Skills/Experience

Essential

  • PC Literate
  • Proficient in SQL Server, VB.net & ASAP.net
  • Detailed knowledge of mirocsoft office
  • Excellent Communictaion Skills
  • Excellent Numerical Skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic team member
  • Accurate Data input skills

Desirable

  • Previous expreiance of T&A systems
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Degree or HND in Computer Science
