Front End Developer
BiDx has launched its new entrepeneurship web-platform www.bidnetwork.org on February 23rd 2012 and is taking the next steps for the future to launch a 2nd release by September 2012 and a 3rd release in 2013. The site has 40,000 members, developers in Amsterdam, a server environment in the USA and the white-labeling of its own platform to subscribing communities worldwide.
About BiDx
BiDx is a new web services company which currently operates the world's largest online community for entrepreneurs in developing countries through its partner www.bidnetwork.org. It is continuously re-developing and improving its web-platform to facilitate the start, growth and finance of small and medium sized businesses in developing countries. BiDx is a limited company owned by the BiD Network Foundation and Mekar Sampoerna PTE Ltd of Indonesia
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Drupal 6 template system with (sub)themes
- Strong experience with CSS, XHTML, and JavaScript, including jquery
- Experience with SVN
- A good understanding of cross-browser issues and their workarounds
Preferably you also have
- HTML 5 knowledge and experience
- experience building websites for mobile devices
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implementing an existing design (available in HTML & CSS) in to a Drupal 6 theme
- Semantic HTML/CSS coding/updating
- Javascript/DOM scripting to build interactive, accessible and elegant interfaces
- PHP scripting in Drupal templates
- Implementing the ‘whitelabel’ designs of integrated systems
- Work with developers, interaction designer, and business users
What we offer
A challenging job at a young, dynamic and international company. This is a full-time position. Our office is in the centre of Amsterdam, next to the Central Station. The salary and pension plan offered are competitive. Initially a one year contract will be offered with a one month trial period.
