Fundraising Officer Cherie Blair Foundation for Women

The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women invests in women entrepreneurs so they can build and expand their businesses, and in doing so, benefit not only themselves but also their families and communities.

As a charitable foundation, we take a collaborative approach. Working in partnership with local non-profit organisations, corporations and government bodies, we develop projects with sustainable solutions to the challenges women entrepreneurs face, providing the business skills, technology, networks and access to finance they need to be successful in the long term.

To ensure the Foundation is able to implement its high quality programmes effectively, we have developed a fundraising strategy for the next three years. To support this, the Foundation is recruiting a Fundraising Officer. The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for working with all Foundation staff, and particularly the Fundraising & Partnerships Manager, to identify, research and pursue funding opportunities for the Foundation.


Duties and responsibilities

The principal duties and responsibilities of the Fundraising Officer will be to:

• Conduct prospect research

• Support relationship management of individual donors, including but not limited to correspondence, proposals and reports

• Support the development of the Foundation’s membership community, particularly in regards to events and communications

• Maintain the fundraising database and donor records

• Provide support to restricted funding applications, including proposals and reports

Other responsibilities may be added depending on experience and need.

The selected candidate will need to demonstrate the following experience:

Essential

• Experience of prospect research and fundraising from individuals

• Experience of working in a busy, target-driven fundraising team

• Experience of working with internal and external contacts at senior levels

• Experience of working with budgets, reports and other financial data

• Experience of event coordination

Desirable

• Experience of other fundraising streams, such as trusts, foundations and corporate partnerships

The selected candidate will need to demonstrate the following core competencies:

Essential

• Ability to achieve income targets

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

• Ability to communicate with a range of donors through a variety of formats

• Ability to professionally manage relationships with a wide variety of persons and institutions in a competent, professional and timely manner

• Excellent IT skills

• High level of attention to detail

• Event coordination and logistics skills

• Ability to work both independently and pro-actively and as part of a team

• Organised and flexible

Desirable

• Knowledge of international development and entrepreneurship

• Ability to travel

This role will be based in London although some travel may be required.

Remuneration will range from £24,000 to £26,000 per annum depending on experience.
