Governance and Accreditation Assistant Transparency International

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

The Governance Unit is responsible for the internal governance of the global organisation at the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) and it facilitates the development of and helps ensure a strong, integer and relevant TI Movement that fulfils its mission efficiently and in full abidance with the values that it promotes, and in respect of the diversity and high independence of its constituents.

Main function: Assists the Governance Unit in ensuring the smooth flow of information in the Membership Accreditation Committee (MAC) and Individual Members (IM) Appointment process. Provides support in the logistical arrangements of Board meetings and Annual Membership Meeting (AMM)

Starting date: As soon as possible

Duration: Limited for 2 years with the possibility for extension

Job grade: Assistant Programme Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Governance Coordinator ensuring proper delivery of key documents in the accreditation process: (annual plans, budgets, annual report, registers of interests, standardised financial information, audited financial statements)
  • Support the logistical arrangements of Board meetings and AMM sessions
  • Support the Governance Manager and Coordinator in their work with Board Committees
  • Support the Governance Coordinator in the maintenance of the online archive of accreditation questionnaires and the publication on the Chapter Zone of NC best practices
  • Conduct short-term desk research and surveys on governance issues of relevance to TI-S
  • Maintain a searchable database of volunteers of TI-S

Knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Able to handle multiple tasks across a wide range of issues
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of organisation, planning and records management
  • Experience of secretarial work and event organisation desirable
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong command of office tools
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French, Spanish or German is an advantage

TI Secretariat reserves the right to appoint to another staff level subject to education and qualifications.
