Inventory Controller South Africa-Gauteng

Under direction of management personnel, performs a wide variety of complex and responsible
computational inventory, reporting, and clerical duties. Does related work as required. The position requires the candidate to be based in Johannesburg with extensive travel to Tanzania
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Identify items to be immediately procured and advise the procurement team accordingly.
· Reviews, maintains, and updates min/max stock levels across all warehouses within the site.
· Reviews current processes and identifies areas that can be improved on.
· Reports on all inventory related data on a monthly basis. Eg. Stock outs, stock accuracy, slow moving stock, stock adjustment value, number of returns by supplier, supplier OTIF.
· Analyze data and prepare accurate records and reports on inventory levels (min/max – safety stock requirements); ability to carry out oral and written instructions; communicate effectively; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; ability to operate necessary office equipment including a PC/laptop; perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately; assist compiling and analyzing financial and statistical information and data. Assure that assigned tasks are completed within established time or reporting deadlines. Be flexible and receptive to change.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent
And training in inventory control and storekeeping.
Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of inventory control; data
processing and record keeping techniques
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
· Two years of increasingly responsible experience in storekeeping and inventory management.
· Computer literacy, preferably ERP systems and office software.
  • Inventory Management Experience working in the automotive or mining industries
