Work in a team at IRRI to design, implement, test, document and support web and mobile phone based applications for decision tools and calculators which facilitate the dissemination of improved nutrient, crop and environmental management for rice based systems.



Duties

1. Coordinate within a team the programming, de bugging, testing and software support for web and mobile phone based applications of nutrient and crop management decision support tools

2. Develop and provide technical support for mobile phone based applications of nutrient and crop management decision support tolls which provide enhanced services and profitability for farmers.

3. Lead the maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading of existing software applications including the analytics of software use and databases.

4. Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervising IRS.

Qualification requirements:


  • BS Computer Science
  • Minimum of 3 years relavant experience in relational database programming
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals; well experienced in programming in several languages and relational database programming; knowledge of different operating systems; familiarity with programming mobile phone applications and experience on HTML5
  • High degree of self motivation. Ability to work harmoniously within a research team at IRRI and with NARES partners.
