VALUE CHAIN SPECIALIST
CHF (Canadian Hunger Foundation) & MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates) are seeking a Value Chain specialist to manage the technical implementation of the value chain activities in an agricultural value chain enhancement project focusing on the fruit and vegetable sub-sector. Based in Cambodia, the Value Chain Specialist will also be responsible for providing technical advice and support to develop and strengthen the value chain capacities of the project partners, beneficiaries and other stakeholders. This individual will oversee the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of value chain related activities. Donor funding not yet secured.
Duties:
- Design and implement value chain strategies for the project.
- Oversee the management, development and deployment of value chain training for project staff and partners.
- Identify, initiate and facilitate the development of strategic linkages with the identified value chain actors and support service providers e.g., input suppliers, traders, wholesalers, retailers, transport, financial institutions etc.
- Provide high standards of leadership and build the capacity of value chain staff in implementing the value chain activities including developing annual and quarterly workplans, reporting and monitoring.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure market-led approaches are effectively integrated into all project activities.
- Document results and adjust programming as required to meet objective
- Prepare reports as required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years combined experience in enterprise development and project management.
- Creative, entrepreneurial and resourceful approach to developing and marketing small businesses with an understanding of sustainable private sector and value chain methodologies.
- A Graduate level degree or equivalent in business, international development or a related discipline.
- Proven experience developing and leading pro-poor market-led strategies .
- Demonstrated experience in capacity development for the management of small farms and businesses.
- Able to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English; an understanding of Khmer highly desirable.
- A commitment to overcoming poverty and inequity.
