SCA Background
The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organisation working to assist in the reconstruction ofAfghanistan. SCA’s interventions insideAfghanistanbegan in 1982. Today SCA runs four major development programmes within Disability, Education, Health and Rural Development and is one of the largest NGOs in the country. SCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Scope of Work:
Environmental Assistant is in-charge of running environmental issues that range from advocacy, awareness and also ensures that environmental policies are well implemented.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • At least high school graduate (Baccalaureate), college or university with BBA or BA will be given preference.
  • Good communication (oral and written) in Dari, Pashto and English.
  • Computer skills at operator level.
  • To be an Afghan citizen

Main Responsibilities:
  • To supervise gardeners daily activities at expats compounds and KMO
  • To guide by practical check-lists for offices on measurement of how to decrease the environmental impact by SCA at KMO, Project and Field Offices level.
  • To implement recommendations and instructions of policies to staff for the daily work that encourage staff to environmentally friendly actions etc.
  • To develop/make sure that the functioning recycling system for paper, plastic, metal glasses etc… working well.
  • To take care of general hygiene issues in KMO as well as in POs/FOs.
  • Managing compost and guiding related staff on how to make/use of compost.
  • To arrange meetings with the subordinates and inform them regarding any relevant developments at SCA or for any other related matters when required.
