Chief Executive of one of the largest microcredit and development entities in the world


We are searching for a talented individual who would become Chief Executive  of one of the largest microcredit and development entities in the world. The position reports to the Board of Directors headed by the Chairman. Such a person would be socially committed, for whom the main attraction of the job would be the opportunity of improving conditions of rural women and the rural economy.
Location : Dhaka Bangladesh. Sector:  Micro Finance. Profession: Senior Management. Contract Type: Fixed Term with renewal dependent on performance and Age. Hours: Full time. Salary: As per BD Government guidelines.  Age: Approximately 40 to a maximum of 55. 
QUALIFICATIONS:            
  • Higher Post Graduate Degree(S) from well reputed institutions preferably in the social sciences.  
  • MBA/ Phd/ Professional degrees desirable.  
  • Preference will be given to persons having knowledge and experience in rural economy and finance or in the field of Microfinance.
  • Administrative and Management skills to handle a very large workforce spread over a wide geographic area is considered important.
  • International work experience with development agencies would be an added qualification.
The applicant is expected to have significant work experience covering:
  • The necessary gravitas to work with senior-level stakeholders, the Board of Directors and the senior leadership team.
  • Debt structure and management strategies and established lending terms.
  • The ability to oversee Fund and Treasury Management, IT security, Database and Risk Management issues. 
  • Possess a track record of interaction with Private Sector and  Government  officials at the highest level within and outside the country.
  • Strong leadership skills to work with a client base of rural Bangladeshi women. 
  • Knowledge of the local regulatory environment and international regulatory environment on MFI and Basel related micro finance issues.
It is expected that the applicant will be an individual with Intra cultural skills, gender sensitivity, a consensus builder and have the skill sets to manage change.
