Head of Law Reform Fair Trials International London, United Kingdom

Fair Trials International is a dynamic human rights charity which campaigns for the better protection of fair trial rights. Over the past four years, Fair Trials has grown considerably and developed an effective and respected law-reform function, influencing law and policy (particularly at EU level) on cross-border judicial cooperation and procedural rights, through a combination of public campaigns, political lobbying and strategic litigation.

We have exciting plans to build on our recent successes and develop these activities and are looking to recruit a Head of Law Reform to lead this work. You will be a member of Fair Trials’ management team, with input into the charity’s overall strategic direction and will have responsibility for all of FTI’s law reform and networking activities, managing campaigns, policy work and strategic casework. You will lead an excellent team of experienced and motivated colleagues including two full-time Law Reform Officers as well as interns and volunteers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer, with a track record in law reform, to take on a varied and challenging role. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development of Fair Trials International and in improving protection for the fundamental human right to a fair trial.

The closing date is 9am, Monday, 14th January 2013.
