INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization, with 190 Member States. Created in 1923, it facilitates cross-border police co-operation, and supports and assists all organizations, authorities, and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime. INTERPOL is now looking for five qualified candidates to serve as Police Training Officers within the NCB and Police Training Sub-Directorate* in the Executive Directorate for INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, NCB & Police Training, and in close relationship with the rest of the Capacity Building and Training (CBT) Directorate and relevant INTERPOL managers and personnel, the incumbent plans, develops, implements and delivers police training programmes for NCB and Law Enforcement Officers and Regional Bureau staff. He/she coordinates all other operationally oriented courses delivered by the different specialized police services in accordance with the INTERPOL Training Strategy and the Training guide.
Primary Duties
1. Plan, design and coordinate operationally oriented police programmes or other training resources, including implementation and participation to those programmes such as “INTERPOL Mobile Police Training Programme (IMPTP)” or “INTERPOL Police Development Programme for NCBs (IPDP/NCBs)” based on the needs expressed by the CBT and Executive Directorate IGCI.
2. Build up, promote and conduct training courses in collaboration with other Specialized Police officers, and evaluate the effectiveness of those training courses. 3. Evaluate the effectiveness of training and capacity building activities and prepare post-training reports. 4. Coordinate external operationally oriented police training courses delivered by police officers in the different criminal areas. 5. Analyse and propose evolutions to the training policies and processes in consultation with his/her immediate supervisor. 6. Provide INTERPOL Units with assistance and guidance on their training programs when requested and tasked by CBT or by the Assistant Director NCB and Police Training. 7. Carry out all other duties as may be required by the hierarchy. Requirements
All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.
Education
• Police background is mandatory.
Experience
• At least 2 years professional experience in dealing with training needs analysis, curriculum design, delivery of training programs and post-training evaluations, ideally within the police community;
• Professional experience in an international environment is required.
Languages
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Any other official language of the Organization would be an asset.
Technical Competencies
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relations with clients, stakeholders and senior management in a multi-cultural environment.
In addition to the requirements, the following Assets and Special Aptitudes would be beneficial.
• University Degree in management or adult learning will be considered an asset;
• Experience in providing groups with training in management skills development would be considered as an asset.
Working Conditions
• This post is to be filled on the basis of a secondment.
• Remuneration: INTERPOL does not pay salary to seconded officials. Depending on the nationality of the official, an expatriation allowance may be paid for a maximum period of six years. • This post requires occasional travel on missions, sometimes of a long duration and at short notice.
• The incumbent will be occasionally required to work irregular hours or overtime based upon workload.
*The Organization reserves the right to modify the Directorate and/or Sub-Directorate’s name and internal structure. This may have an impact on the functional title and reporting lines of this position.
