R&D Project Officer EUREKA Secretariat

EUREKA is an international network of 40 member countries and the European Commission whose aim is to raise the competitiveness and productivity of European companies through innovation and technology-based product development.
EUREKA supports European innovation by organizing international R&D&I collaboration projects between SMEs, research centers, universities and large industry.
One such support mechanism is the Eurostars Joint Programme, an international, market-orientated innovation programme dedicated to R&D performing SMEs, co-funded by the European Communities and 33 EUREKA member countries. Located in Brussels, the EUREKA Secretariat acts as the dedicated implementation structure for the programme in addition to its role as a service and support provider for the EUREKA Network.
The EUREKA Secretariat is looking for an R&D Project Officer.
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day follow-up (monitoring) of projects financed within the Eurostars Joint Programme;
  • You will follow established procedures to monitor and analyze the portfolio of projects and participating organisations, ensuring compliance with programme regulations and requirements, formulating recommendations for resolving issues and taking primary responsibility for coordinating them;
  • You will liaise daily with project participants and project officers from across the EUREKA countries;
  • You will generate detailed statistical reports for circulation to funding agencies and Ministerial representatives;
  • You will work with the communications team to promote interesting and successful projects to an international audience;
  • You will represent the EUREKA Network and Eurostars Programme at national and international events and give presentations to various stakeholders;
  • Your role may include the supervision of a small number of support staff;
  • Your work will be in coordination with the other members of the Eurostars project team.
You have:
  • A degree (or higher) in engineering or a science-related subject;
  • A passion for innovation, a curious and open mind;
  • An ability to listen to, understand and communicate detailed and complex subjects;
  • A proactive mindset and a track record of taking the initiative;
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving;
  • An ability to plan for the long-term while being able to meet short deadlines;
  • Exceptional organisation skills and an ability to multitask;
  • English is the working language of EUREKA. Candidates must demonstrate a high standard of English in both verbal and written form;
  • A second European language may be considered an asset.
