Site Administrator - Fixed-Term AngloGold Ashanti


AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 21 operations in 10 countries on four continents.   AGA employs over 63,000 people globally.  In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and is the manager of the Tropicana Joint Venture with a 70% interest.  Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%.  The Sunrise Dam and Tropicana operations are both situated in WA.
Tropicana Gold Mine represents the most significant Australian gold discovery of the last decade.  The new, large scale open pit gold mining operation will produce 3.91 million ounces over a 10 year mine life.  With construction having commenced in 2011, first gold is anticipated in the December quarter of 2013.
Accountable to the Construction Manager, this role is responsible for providing site administrative services to the Tropicana Gold Project team. This role is based at the Tropicana Gold Mine on a FIFO 9/5 roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

This opportunity is a fixed-term contract for the life of the construction project until October 2013.
The main accountabilities of the role include:
  • Manage all travel support requirements for the project team members;
  • Coordination of meetings, meeting rooms and resources;
  • Minute taking on an as required basis;
  • Coordinate and manage office requirements local to the TGP team area to include staff amenities, stationery, business cards, mail distribution and couriers;
  • Coordination of shared corporate services to include IT, printers and copiers when required;
  • Expense reports and credit card reports as required;
  • Manage all travel requirements for the Construction team contractors, including booking site inductions etc.
  • General office duties and support for the Construction Manager
  • Reporting and word processing to include:
  • Ad hoc reports in support of the TGP team members
  • Writing and coordinating the TGP newsletter and sending out Site Notifications
  • Document management to include:
  • Uploading, monitoring and maintenance of project documentation and electronic files, emails and records;
  • Establish and maintain hard copy filing where applicable of project documents
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Proven experience as an Office Administrator or Administration Assistant, preferably within the mining industry;
  • Experience in records management and document control;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel;
  • Previous experience with InFlight or equivalent site entry, flight and accommodation booking system;
  • Strong administrative skills including accurate typing and document proof reading;
  • Ability to multi-task successfully and work autonomously;
  • Excellent communication and written skills. Experience in a similar administration role(s) preferably with a construction/mining team will be held in high regard.
