Role

 
You will be asked to carry out a full range of Broadcast Journalist duties including live reporting, the planning and production of live news bulletins /programmes, reports and features.  
You'll be expected to work across the output and will be based in a multi media news room where you will collaborate with your colleagues in television and news online on a daily basis. 

Requirements

 
You'll need to have a strong broadcasting voice and razor sharp writing and journalistic skills. You will have had experience of preparing and reading radio news bulletins. You'll also have superb news judgement and a clear understanding of why news bulletins are such an important part of our overall output. You'll be able to bring your bright ideas to air as well and have some knowledge of the patch. It’s expected that you will have an understanding of the direction in which the BBC's local services are heading. In addition to your journalistic knowledge and experience we will also be looking for a creative way of thinking and the ability to apply that across any platform for all our roles. Excellent planning skills, the capacity to make decisions and be accountable for your actions, the ability to successfully work with others and lead teams to deliver great content to our audiences are all essential requirements.
