Position Summary
The Energy Marketing and Trading International Graduate Development Programme (IGDP) is designed to prepare you for a career in the global wholesale energy markets. BG Group is a leading practitioner in marketing and trading across Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), oil and piped natural gas, with operations based in Houston, UK, Singapore, Brisbane and Tokyo.
You will fulfil a number of varied roles to build your experience and understanding of the business, and will have direct exposure to many of the critical commercial decisions we take on a daily basis.  On completion of the graduate programme you could move into a substantive role within one of our marketing and trading business. This is your chance to work for a rapidly growing business with real challenges, real rewards and a very real opportunity to progress your international career.
Key Accountabilities
During the course of your two-year IGDP, you will rotate through three or four distinct roles. This will provide plenty of opportunity to establish which part of the energy marketing business most suits your skill set and interests. We expect you to carry out real on the job training in our various departments including spending at least six months on an international assignment in one or more of our global locations.
The specific assignments will vary but could include gas or LNG trading, quantitative analytics, operations and scheduling, ship chartering, risk control and finance and back office roles. You will work closely with an integrated team of technical, commercial and operational experts, carry out analysis of real commercial opportunities and assist the team in the projects delivery - everyone is expected to add value to the bottom line.
Much of what you learn will be on the job. But you will also benefit from a whole host of technical training, including courses on the fundamentals of the gas chain, risk analysis, as well as an introduction to our numerous software packages.
Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountability for HSSE, all employees are accountable for ensuring that they take care of themselves and adopt exemplary safe behaviours.
