Description: The Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma program invites applications for a part-time instructional position which will commence in April 2013. The successful candidate will be available to instruct the Exercise Physiology course. Students will learn how the principles of anatomy and physiology will be applied to exercise. Beginning with nutrition and the metabolic pathways that provide energy for movement, students will learn how the systems of the body respond physiologically to the demands of exercise. Students will also learn how these systems adapt to specific aerobic and anaerobic modes of training as well as the effects age and gender have on these adaptations.

Duties: The course consists of 48 hours of classroom instruction using the approved curriculum; design and implementation of applicable curriculum assessment measures; marking and submission of final course grades. The instructor will also be required to maintain regular contact with the PFT Administration team, and adhere to program policies and deadlines.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, three hours

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Degree or Masters in Kinesiology or Physical Education with 3-5 years of fitness industry related experience and be competent in course facilitation. Demonstrated experience in adult education principles and instruction would be an asset.
