About the Job:
WPF is looking for a Microcredit Field Program Manager. S/he will assist WPF to monitor and evaluate the portfolio of microfinance projects in Africa. S/he will also be responsible for telling the story of MFI, clients, and the realities of poverty through various mediums. S/he will build and maintain relationships with Foundation microfinance partners in the region.
WPF is looking for a Microcredit Field Program Manager. S/he will assist WPF to monitor and evaluate the portfolio of microfinance projects in Africa. S/he will also be responsible for telling the story of MFI, clients, and the realities of poverty through various mediums. S/he will build and maintain relationships with Foundation microfinance partners in the region.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct remote reviews of MFI performance;
- Visit MFIs throughout the region as part of ongoing M&E;
- Communicate with Foundation partners on a regular basis to assess performance of MFI as compared to original grant agreement;
- Compile quarterly metrics of MFI partners and analyze accomplishments versus project goals;
- Perform thorough review of MFI partners financial statements on an as needed basis;
- Conduct field reviews of projects on an as needed basis;
- Provide the Foundation with MFI client photo stories and other media;
- Manage and be responsible for all activities as an independent contractor with guidance from WPF;
- Provide logistic support and coordination on an as needed basis for visits from WPF representatives to the region.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in International Development, Business, Economics or related studies;
- At least 2 years of experience working in rural development in Africa;
- Experience with microfinance or other relevant economic development work;
- Ability to provide dynamic contributions to media efforts documenting fieldwork;
- Strong French skills required.
