About the Organization: 
Women’s World Banking (WWB) is an international network of 39 MFIs in 27 countries to bring financial services and information to low-income entrepreneurs. Its mission is to expand the economic assets, participation, and power of poor women as entrepreneurs and economic agents by opening their access to finance, knowledge and markets. It seeks to alleviate global poverty by expanding the economic assets, participation, and power of the poor, especially women.
About the Job: 
WWB is looking for Fellows for its fellowship program. The WWB Fellowship Program enables future global leaders in microfinance and women's economic empowerment to experience the challenges and rewards of contributing to an organization that works diligently to create financial opportunities for low income women. Over a 2-year period, Fellows will deliver solutions for the organization and its network member institutions concerning an array of microfinance initiatives including: credit, savings, youth products, financial education, and microinsurance. Fellows will have the opportunity to rotate throughout different departments for a period of six months.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Market research: Work in the field to identify the needs of clients through qualitative and quantitative methodologies;
  • Product development: Be instrumental in developing new financial products and services, including adult and youth savings, microinsurance, and individual lending for specific countries;
  • Center for microfinance leadership: Join the team delivering leadership training and mentoring for microfinance leaders across the globe;
  • Development: Work with new and existing donors to ensure programs reach targets and plan special events;
  • Global marketing and communications: Position WWB as the thought leader in financial inclusion for women. Develop publications and website content;
  • Finance: Ensure financial sustainability and growth through financial management, reporting, and investing.
Qualifications: 
  • Demonstrated abilities to tackle the type of work required to best support the needs of WWB's clients in developing countries.
